It Starts with Care
At Rising Tides, we care for everyone as a whole person — not just for what they’ve been through, but for who they are and who they can become. We create safe, stable homes where they feel calm, supported, and genuinely cared for — a place to catch their breath and start to heal.
Our Holistic Model of Care
Our model of care is grounded in Te Whare Tapa Whā — a holistic Māori framework that guides us to support wellbeing across the wairua (spirit), hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), and whānau (relationships). When these areas are nurtured, tamariki begin to feel more settled in themselves. Their confidence grows, they feel stronger in their bodies, more in control of their emotions, more connected to their identity, and more hopeful about the people around them.

Physical Wellbeing (Taha Tinana)
“We prioritise the physical health and safety of children through consistent care, healthy routines, access to healthcare, and safe living environments that support their growth and development.”
Spiritual Wellbeing (Taha Wairua)
We honour each child’s spiritual identity by respecting their beliefs, values, and purpose. Through connection to culture, faith, or nature, we support them to find strength and belonging.
Mental and Emotional Wellbeing (Taha Hinengaro)
“We prioritise the physical health and safety of children through consistent care, healthy routines, access to healthcare, and safe living environments that support their growth and development.”
Family and Social Wellbeing (Taha Whānau)
“We recognise the essential role of whānau and relationships in a child’s life. We work alongside families and communities to strengthen bonds and ensure children feel loved, connected, and supported.”
I believe Supported Accommodation must go beyond immediate safety — it should nurture the whole person. By embracing the Te Whare Tapa Whā model, we support not just physical well-being, but also the mental, spiritual, and relational foundations that create lasting resilience and healing.

The Heart of Our Work
We’re building a community of good people who care deeply — for our young people, their families, and each other. Guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā, we support the whole person — mind, body, spirit, and connection — creating safe, healing spaces where everyone has the chance to grow and thrive.
1
Our Young People
Our clients are at the centre of everything we do.
We take a holistic approach — caring for their mind, body, spirit, and sense of belonging. Every decision, relationship, and home we create is shaped by their needs, strengths, and voices.
2
Families
We stand alongside the families of the people we support.
Wherever possible, we work to strengthen whānau by offering support, guidance, and opportunities to grow. Our goal is to help families build the skills and confidence they need to create safe, stable environments — so when the time is right, reunification is possible and lasting.
Our Team
We care deeply for our team — not just in their roles, but as people.
We support our teams growth, wellbeing, and whānau. With the right guidance and a strong team culture, they feel valued, confident, and connected to the work they do. When our team is well supported, that care flows forward.
